Job Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endocrinology/Metabolic Physician to serve as the Section Chief of the Endocrinology/Metabolic Section. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading the section, and contributing to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders
  • Supervise and teach endocrine fellows, medical residents, and students
  • Oversee mid-level practitioners, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments
  • Ensure compliance with hospital infection prevention policies and procedures
  • Support translational metabolic research studies and mentor junior faculty
  • Teach and evaluate endocrine fellows and medical residents
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States
  • Board certification in Endocrinology
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience with leadership experience
