Job Title: Data and Network Security Specialist

The Montrose Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data and Network Security Specialist to manage data and network systems within our clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the data and functionality of the electronic health record system (CONTINUUM), including writing SQL reports, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with developers on system enhancements.
  • Monitor and manage the Watchguard firewall to block unauthorized access and ensure network security.
  • Act as a backup for Active Directory security groups, folders, and email lists, maintaining proper access controls for staff members.
  • Oversee server backups and updates to ensure the availability and security of data.
  • Generate client data reports for department heads, grant writers, auditors, and the executive team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide basic software help desk support for staff, including assistance with Microsoft products, electronic health record issues, and email security.
  • Conduct annual cybersecurity training for staff, covering email and LAN security rules.
  • Manage information technology and computer systems, including planning, organizing, controlling, and evaluating IT and electronic data operations.
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of data and network access.
  • Identify areas of risk and implement strategic solutions in a timely manner to mitigate.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems and assess outcomes to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Preserve assets, information security, and control structures to safeguard sensitive data.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience working with networks, preferably in a clinical or medical setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronic health record systems and experience managing sensitive medical data.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience writing and managing SQL reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and external developers/vendors.
  • Proven ability to identify security vulnerabilities and implement strategic solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
