Relationship Banker

Newburyport Bank is seeking a skilled Relationship Banker to join our team. As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with clients, and promoting our products and services.

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of our products and services, as well as regulatory and compliance issues.
• Deepen relationships with new and existing customers by discussing and identifying their financial needs.
• Meet performance goals consistently, while actively promoting products and services to add value and create customer awareness.
• Participate in all Bank-wide incentive programs and business development initiatives.
• Service customers by processing a variety of transactions with minimal or no errors.
• Issue money orders and official checks, process coin, and order customer checks according to Bank policies and procedures.
• Verify all transactions, place holds when appropriate, and balance cash drawer upon completion of assigned shift.
• Open new Consumer and Business accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and all other ancillary products offered by the Bank.
• Assist with ATM-related issues and daily ATM balancing procedures.
• Aid with verification of incoming and outgoing cash shipments.
• Perform security functions by opening and closing Bank and Vault, ensuring overall safety and security of Bank grounds.
• Maintain customer confidentiality and retention of Bank documents in accordance with Bank policies.

• Minimum of high school education or equivalent, plus 3+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Basic understanding and aptitude for math, working with numbers, and cash handling.
• Demonstrated aptitude for Customer Service, and comfort level with verbal and written communications.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as requested.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
