Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology department at Chesterfield County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for all technology-related initiatives, ensuring that our schools and district offices have the necessary technology infrastructure to support teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan that aligns with the school division's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the technology department, including budget management, personnel supervision, and technology resource management.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and other division leaders to identify and prioritize technology needs and develop solutions to address them.
  • Ensure that all technology systems and infrastructure are secure, reliable, and meet the needs of our students, teachers, and staff.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for technology use, including data management, network security, and digital citizenship.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to schools and departments as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their adoption and implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, technology management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology leadership role, preferably in a school division or educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
