Job Summary:

The Construction Field Supervisor is a key member of the GWC Capital team, responsible for overseeing construction operations and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage field construction work for land development projects, including earthwork, utilities, roadways, landscaping, and amenities.
  • Ensure timely delivery, costs at or under budget, and high-quality results.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, agencies, and trade partners.
  • Oversee pre-construction and weekly construction meetings.
  • Coordinate the acceptance of improvements from municipalities and agencies.
  • Thoroughly understand plans and specifications, and manage field construction contract changes.
  • Arrange for the proper sequencing of work to minimize overall durations, rework, and conflicts.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field, including construction supervision experience.
  • Self-starter and results-oriented.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of the land development and civil construction process.
  • Strengths in forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage field work on projects.
  • Tactful and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with managers, associates, vendors, and others.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks, handle multiple priorities, and work under changing conditions and challenging deadlines.
