Position Overview:

Bemidji Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to enhance our client service experience.

Compensation: $17 - $19/hr (based on experience)

Shift Details: 8:00am-6:00pm, four days a week, with occasional Saturday shifts required.

Job Summary: The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for guiding clients through their experience, from check-in to check-out, documenting medical notes, developing treatment plans, coordinating with technical teams, and following up after visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of the organization.
  • Prepare clients for their visits by communicating expectations and addressing inquiries.
  • Welcome clients warmly and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Accurately record medical information provided by veterinarians during examinations and update records with diagnostic results.
  • Develop, present, and clarify treatment plans as directed by veterinarians.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure the execution of treatment plans.
  • Schedule follow-up and wellness appointments.
  • Facilitate the fulfillment of prescriptions, providing necessary explanations to clients.
  • Clearly communicate discharge instructions and respond to client questions.
  • Manage client checkouts and process payments in the examination room.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with clients to check on their pets' well-being and share any test results.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted.
