We are seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to lead our Pueblo West Orthopedic Unit at UCHealth. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing leadership and supervision to a team of nurses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care as needed, float between staff to assist with problem-solving, and may take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Quality Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identify issues affecting desired patient outcomes, and respond to complaints about patient care and related services.
- Administrative Duties: Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers, ensuring staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
- Licensure and Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, and relevant certification as determined at position level.
- Experience: 1 year of nursing experience, with the ability to promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
- Competitive Compensation: $60.31 per hour, with pay dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
