Job Summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking an Electronics Assembler II to join our team in West Caldwell, NJ. As an Electronics Assembler II, you will perform basic and routine electronic or hybrid assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, or subassemblies in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled soldering of circuit cards, touch up, jumper wires, through hole, and mag wire with use of microscope.
  • Execute hand assembly of cable assemblies, pin interface into connectors, masking/de-masking, crimping, stripping, riveting, touch up paint & chemical conversion, bonding and mixing chemical.
  • Use hand tools including but not limited to, soldering irons, solder suckers, torque wrenches, manual hand tools, power tools along with automated machine operation.
  • Visually check completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Recognize and assure correct values of electronic components: index and position mechanical components per drawing and specifications.
  • Cross-train to work on at least 2 products.
  • Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy.
  • Satisfactorily complete job-related company training courses.
  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; Good reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents); Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software).
  • Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness.
  • Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting.
