Crane Co. is seeking a skilled Electronics Assembler II to join our team in a manufacturing environment.

About Crane Co.

We are a leading supplier of critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Our products are used in some of the toughest environments, from engines to landing gear, satellites to medical implants, and missiles to unmanned aerial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled soldering of circuit cards, touch up, jumper wires, through hole, and mag wire with use of microscope.
  • Execute hand assembly of cable assemblies, pin interface into connectors, masking/de-masking, crimping, stripping, riveting, touch up paint & chemical conversion, bonding and mixing chemical.
  • Use hand tools including but not limited to, soldering irons, solder suckers, torque wrenches, manual hand tools, power tools along with automated machine operation.
  • Visually check completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Recognize and assure correct values of electronic components: index and position mechanical components per drawing and specifications.
  • Cross-train to work on at least 2 products.
  • Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy.
  • Satisfactorily complete job-related company training courses.
  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of complex electronic assembly and soldering operations on low voltage, high voltage, microwave or other components or subassemblies in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards.
  • Perform a wide range of complex hybrid electronic assembly to include the handling of hybrid components, wire bonding, ribbon attaching, and manually attaching hybrid components (utilizing a variety of materials such as AuSi, AuSn, 1 mil gold wire, 15 mil gold ribbon, etc.) in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards using blueprints, visual aids, wiring lists, verbal and/or written instructions all while utilizing a microscope.
  • Prep components prior to assembly, clean components, wire bond, seal, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.
Working Conditions
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE.
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes.
  • Standing: 25%
  • Sitting: 75%
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses
  • Workspace: assembly cell
