About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will also be responsible for notifying donors of unsuitable test results and working under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned. You will also need to have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification, as well as fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Additionally, you will need to satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Manage donor adverse events, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
  • Support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs
What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
