Nurse Specialist for Women's and Children's Services

The Nurse Specialist for Women's and Children's Services at Southwestern Vermont Health Care is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to obstetric and pediatric patients. In collaboration with physicians, providers, and the care team, the Nurse Specialist develops, discusses, and communicates a comprehensive care plan for each patient. This includes educating patients and caregivers to ensure informed decision-making, covering topics such as medication side effects, treatment options, discharge instructions, reportable conditions, and available services.
Requirements for the position include graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, as is prior nursing experience. The ability to obtain a valid Vermont State Registered Nurse license by the date of employment is mandatory. Current Health Care Provider (BLS) certification is also required.
