Child Welfare Case Specialist

The Case Manager plays a crucial role in the development, evaluation, facilitation, and oversight of all aspects related to the assigned caseloads of youth residing at our residential treatment facility. At New Horizons Ranch & Center, Inc., our team is dedicated to the philosophy of prioritizing the well-being of children.

About Our Facility: New Horizons provides a nurturing, therapeutic environment for children and adolescents who have faced significant trauma due to abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Our facility is designed to ensure safety and promote healing, offering a home-like atmosphere where children can thrive. Our expansive grounds include various amenities such as an accredited on-campus school, equine therapy programs, recreational facilities, and living accommodations for up to 70 children aged 6-17.
Location: Situated in a serene rural area, our facility is approximately two hours northwest of a major city, providing a peaceful setting conducive to healing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Adhere to the New Horizons Employee Handbook.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff and service providers.
- Manage cases for children in residential care while following all applicable standards and policies.
- Adapt to the evolving needs of children in treatment.
- Conduct intake and assessment interviews.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participate actively in meetings regarding the children in your care.
- Keep all medical, psychological, and therapeutic updates current.
- Review treatment plans with the Treatment Director.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards for child care.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Transport children as required.
- Adhere to the philosophy of prioritizing the well-being of children.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with experience in youth services, or a Master's degree in social services or a related discipline.
- Equivalent educational or experiential qualifications will be considered.
- Valid driver's license and insurance are required.
- Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to work with varied populations.
- Capability to perform conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
- Successful completion of background checks and health screenings is mandatory.
