This position operates on a 4x10 schedule, providing every Friday off, and is available as a virtual/remote role. The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for candidates for the NRIC CREO Design Engineer position. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical contact for NRIC project model management and product lifecycle management. You will report directly to the department manager. Key Responsibilities: You will provide engineering support for facility and project digital twin initiatives to facilitate the digital engineering transformation effort. Your role will be within the Reactor Project Engineering department at MFC, contributing to the NRIC project portfolio. INL is recognized as the leading national laboratory for the Department of Energy (DOE), and the NRIC testbeds offer a unique capability for testing innovative reactor designs. The main functions of this position include:
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on the PTC CREO suite of tools (including piping, cabling, and schematics) to develop designs utilizing fully parametric models and related documentation.
  • Supporting projects as the system engineer as designated by the manager or project lead, enabling the creation of fully parametric designs that support a digital twin.
  • Maintaining the real-time as-built configuration of NRIC projects throughout fabrication and construction modifications.
  • Ensuring adherence to processes and workflows in the PLM system to guarantee that reviews and design verifications are conducted properly.
  • Maximizing the use of digital engineering tools and parametric techniques in generating engineering deliverables.
  • Facilitating the transition to digital engineering tools within the department, ensuring the development and implementation of appropriate engineering processes, design tools, and configuration management.
Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
  • EX0E73 - Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience, Master's degree with 1-3 years, or PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in the PTC CREO suite of tools is essential.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.
Job Information:
  • The compensation range for this position is: EX2 - ($75,804 - $155,496)/ EX3 - ($91,008 - $186,588). Compensation decisions at Idaho National Laboratory are based on factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
