Electrical Engineer for the Jupiter Laser Facility

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The successful candidate will provide control system and power conditioning solutions in support of the Jupiter Laser Facility (JLF).
Key Responsibilities- Design, assemble, calibrate, and test electrical and control systems for the JLF.
- Develop and implement power conditioning solutions to support high-energy density science experiments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and control systems with other laboratory systems.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on system design and architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, including design, assembly, calibration, and testing of analog and digital electrical systems.
- Experience with process control systems, microcontroller hardware and software, and programmable logic controller (PLC) coding.
- Ability to work under limited direction and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with high-voltage pulse power systems and controls.
- Experience with laser systems and their associated hardware and controls.
- Experience with system-level design, architecture, and design processes for engineering rigor.
