Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Ryder. This role is essential in maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to avoid future issues.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Replace defective components as necessary.
  • Work independently on most tasks while adhering to safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Mentor junior technicians and assist in their development.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in automotive repair is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty equipment.
  • Basic tools required for the position.
  • Ability to work with computer systems and diagnostic software.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) within six months of hire.
  • Pass a drug test and background check as part of the hiring process.
