Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a minimum of 4 years in estimating, ideally within the Water/Wastewater and Oil & Gas sectors, to enhance our Field Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze industrial building plans to assess the electrical requirements of proposed projects.
  • Evaluate bid documents to ascertain the overall project scope.
  • Identify all necessary documentation for bid submission and determine the appropriate reviewers or contributors.
  • Examine plans and specifications to determine material types and grades, quotes to solicit, and resources needed to ensure compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings or job interviews as necessary.
  • Engage with vendors and review plans and specifications to secure vendor quotes.
  • Verify the accuracy of quoted bill of materials.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient understanding of tools and principles involved in the creation of electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Familiarity with contract documents, including drawings, subcontracts, addendums, specifications, and change orders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the electrical field, including materials and construction methods.
  • Awareness of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C) and local regulations.
  • Solid grasp of estimating principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with suppliers and databases relevant to project specifications.

Required Experience & Education

  • Experience in Water/Wastewater plants and oil/gas facilities is essential.
  • Proficiency with Blue Beam and Accubid is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience estimating projects in the Oil & Gas and Water/Wastewater sectors is necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate past successful bids.
  • Field experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Continuous visual, auditory, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. and prolonged use of a computer keyboard.
