Job Description

At Spokane Treatment and Recovery, we are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for all clients by monitoring and documenting their behaviors and vital signs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient admission to the facility by completing patient screening, recording patient vitals, and completing all agency forms in the admission packet.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and credentialed staff to complete routine duties.
  • Facilitate client movement through identified systems, including STARS, Mental Health, and other social service agencies within Spokane County.
  • Prepare and complete referral and discharge forms.
  • Search and accurately inventory patient property.
  • Check and record patient vital signs.
  • Keep accurate count of all patients and perform periodic room checks.
  • Assist with medication observation for patients.
  • Prepare breakfast.
  • Answer phones and refer appropriately.
  • Conduct educational and informational community meetings.
  • Ensure safety of patients and staff by following policies and procedures.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and 42 CFR laws and regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Perform general light cleaning, including laundry, mopping, and maintaining clean communal areas and workspaces.

Requirements:

  • No prior experience or training is required.
  • No education is required.
  • Computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
