Job Overview

Position Title: CNC Machine Operator

Salary: Competitive

Role Summary:

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the precise machining of components utilizing advanced CNC machinery. These components are integral to the production of actuators and valves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interprets and adheres to technical drawings and specifications to ascertain tooling needs, setup processes, control parameters, and machining techniques.
  • Configures cutting tools and establishes part origins and tool offsets.
  • Installs work holding devices such as vises, fixtures, and knees.
  • Conducts preliminary runs and performs inspections on initial, in-process, and final pieces to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • May perform minor adjustments to programs, including speed and feed rates.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in operating CNC milling equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in setting up and operating CNC machinery while minimizing downtime.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, with a comprehensive understanding of their applications.
  • Strong mathematical skills applicable to shop environments.
  • Capable of working independently or with minimal supervision in a dynamic setting.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily standing (80% of the time).
  • Some walking required (20% of the time).
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
