Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist Team Supervisor is a pivotal role, overseeing all surgical procedures and ensuring operational excellence within the surgical specialty areas. This position involves:

1. Supervising daily surgical operations to uphold high standards of patient care.

2. Preparing for surgical cases by ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment, while resolving any conflicts with relevant stakeholders.

3. Staying informed about evidence-based practices and collaborating with leadership to enhance clinical practices.

4. Developing and maintaining comprehensive preference cards for surgical procedures to facilitate efficient setups.

5. Supporting educational initiatives and program development within the specialty, including the orientation of new staff.

6. Collaborating with the Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with standards and completeness of surgical sets.

7. Assisting in the onboarding of new surgeons, including the creation of procedure cards and reviewing safety protocols.

8. Working with department leadership to ensure operational support for new surgical cases.

9. Contributing to budget planning and product selection processes.

10. Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is mandatory.
