Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist Team Supervisor is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all surgical procedures within designated specialties. This position entails:

1. Ensuring the daily operations of surgical services meet high standards of care.

2. Pre-surgical case reviews to confirm the availability of necessary supplies and equipment, while addressing any discrepancies with surgical teams and vendors.

3. Staying updated on evidence-based practices and collaborating with leadership to enhance clinical protocols.

4. Developing and maintaining comprehensive preference cards for surgical procedures to facilitate efficient setups.

5. Supporting educational initiatives and orientation programs for new staff, fostering skill development and knowledge of equipment.

6. Collaborating with the Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with standards and readiness of surgical sets.

7. Assisting in the onboarding of new surgical staff, including the creation of procedure cards and review of safety protocols.

8. Engaging with departmental leadership to ensure operational support for new surgical cases.

9. Contributing to budget discussions and product selection processes.

10. Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist is essential.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is mandatory.
