Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce Safety Standards: Ensure that all safety standards and procedures are followed in accordance with American Camp Association and Boy Scouts of America guidelines.
  • Lead Aquatics Operations: Assist in tracking and reporting maintenance needs, lead IROEC specific procedures, and work alongside other staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Provide Care and Rescue Services: Perform rescues and provide care to your level of training through the Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work with guests of all ages and abilities, and perform other duties as assigned by the Program and Aquatics Directors.
Requirements
  • Certification: Must maintain current certification as a BSA or Red Cross lifeguard or similar certifying body.
  • Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work a varying work schedule.
  • Language: Desired: Bilingual.
Physical Demands
  • Standing and Sitting: Must be able to stand or sit outside for long periods of time.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be able to withstand exposure to heat, cold, and wind, and maintain personal physical fitness to ensure a rescue can be made in a timely and effective manner.
