Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Automotive Service Manager Trainee/General Service Technician. This position is designed as a developmental opportunity for aspiring Store Managers, with a primary focus on performing essential services such as oil changes while gaining experience in customer interaction, appointment scheduling, and phone management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service by actively listening and addressing customer needs.
- Follow up with customers regarding services requested and estimated completion times.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and offer detailed recommendations, including creating computerized repair orders and sourcing necessary parts.
- Communicate pricing estimates to customers and promote shop service specials.
- Lead, mentor, and train team members while aligning with the company’s vision, core values, and employee creed.
- Supervise a team of up to ten employees.
- Oversee technicians in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of various vehicle makes and models.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Perform basic technician tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience of at least 2 years in a store or service management role.
- General knowledge of automotive systems and services.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a positive disposition.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Team-building skills and the capacity to follow established processes.
- Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license required.
Compensation Structure:
- Base pay starting at $15.50/hour, with overtime opportunities.
- Guaranteed commission paid bi-weekly in addition to base hourly pay.
- Monthly bonus commissions based on store performance.
