Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Tucson Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining water, gas, irrigation, and sewer lines, as well as water heaters, toilets, dishwashers, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures.

The ideal candidate will have four years of plumbing experience, completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the field, and knowledge of plumbing codes. Additionally, they will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, and maintain water, gas, irrigation, and sewer lines
  • Install and maintain water heaters, toilets, dishwashers, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures
  • Coordinate activities of other trade shops, building engineers, and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Four years of plumbing experience
  • Completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the field
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English

Additional Requirements

  • FBI fingerprint background check
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
  • Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and lift test
  • Backflow and water audit certification required after hire
  • Current Arizona Driver's license with no more than the allowable points against Driver's License

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. They will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
