Controller Opportunity

Aston Carter is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal & tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including training, coaching, and disciplining Accounting Department staff.
  • Protect company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Prepare the annual company budget and coordinate this effort with department managers.
  • Monitor customer receivables and coordinate collection efforts as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal & tax requirements for conducting business, including the preparation of tax and regulatory filings, and provide supporting documentation for federal and state tax returns.
  • Prepare financial reporting.
  • Manage treasury cash management functions and cash flow planning.
  • Prepare financial analyses and special reports for management.
  • Work with the Cost Accountant on cost accounting functions, inventory, and product costing.
  • Maintain the fixed asset management system.
  • Actively seek and evaluate cost-saving opportunities throughout the Company.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ employees
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • CPA preferred
  • Bachelors in Accounting required
