About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Genetic Counselor Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our genetic counseling department, you will provide administrative support to our genetic counselors, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist genetic counselors with patient care duties, including charting patient letters, sending out encounters, and ordering patient medical records.
  • Coordinate patient lab testing add-ons and interface with reference labs for sample processing and result reporting.
  • Participate in Clinical Operations working groups and assist genetic counselors with various marketing outreach and special projects.
  • Document information on e-pedigrees and recreate pedigrees with family disease history.
  • Prep medical records, genetic test results, and pedigrees for scanning and transmission to Health Data Services.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews for open positions and visitors.
Requirements
  • Associates' degree in Arts or Science field of study.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, organization, and correspondence formatting.
  • Knowledge of EPIC is highly preferable.
  • Genetics knowledge is desirable.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a secretary in a healthcare field or a minimum of two years of experience in a Genetics or other related environment is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a science, such as Biology, Genetics, or Psychology, will substitute for the required work experience.
