About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counselor to join our Renal Genetics team. As a Genetic Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing patient-centered healthcare services to individuals and families affected by inherited conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical/clinical genetic services to patients and families, including genetic testing, counseling, and case management.
  • Develop and manage effective systems for case management and coordination with genetic testing labs.
  • Liaise with laboratory representatives to stay up-to-date on genetic tests and research protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and referrals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care management meetings and present to other healthcare providers.
  • Contribute to educational opportunities for healthcare providers and patients, including health fairs and professional conferences.
  • Supervise genetic counseling students and/or other trainees.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from an accredited genetic counseling training program.
  • Board certification in genetic counseling (ACMG/ABGC).
  • Minimum of three years post-graduate clinical experience as a genetic counselor in a genetics clinic setting.
  • Experience with genetic counseling billing codes and EPIC EMR system preferred.
