Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at TNT, Inc. in Santiago, Chile; Santee, CA; or Boise, ID. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering services on a variety of projects, working closely with our engineering team to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review client specifications and documents to ensure accurate and complete information
  • Conduct conveyor calculations using Sidewinder and Belt Analyst to ensure optimal system performance
  • Develop and implement feeder calculations to ensure efficient material handling
  • Utilize Discrete Element Modeling (DEM) to simulate conveyor transfer points and optimize system design
  • Prepare calculation reports, equipment data sheets, and equipment lists for project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to select and specify components and equipment
  • Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Work closely with other engineers to develop and implement project designs
  • Conduct site visits to ensure project implementation and quality control
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in material handling and mechanical design, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) designation or ability to register
  • Strong understanding of industry-related codes and standards
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation
  • PMP designation or accreditation
