Accounts Payable Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at a well-established Non-Profit organization in Washington D.C. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, offering a competitive salary and a chance to work with a reputable organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable for multiple companies in NetSuite, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Input vendor invoices into NetSuite, working closely with approving managers to verify required fields and ensure compliance.
  • Research new vendors and collaborate with approving managers to conduct due diligence.
  • Create new vendor profiles in NetSuite, including primary subsidiary, approving manager, and default general ledger account coding.
  • Monitor corporate credit card spending and ensure completeness of vendor invoice submission for processing through accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Accountant and Corporate Controller to ensure timely accounts payable payment processing and availability of funds for all subsidiaries.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts payable aging reports to the general ledger balance and credit card statements to the general ledger balances.
  • Correspond with vendors regarding vendor invoices and payments.
  • Prepare and issue annual 1099 tax documents.
  • Assist with data gathering for internal and external audits.
  • Provide backup support for daily bank reconciliations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable processing or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet savvy, and 10-key proficient.
  • Experience with Concur and Sage Intacct and NetSuite is highly preferred.
