Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director, Mission Advancement to join our team at Best Buddies International Inc.

This role is responsible for building the volunteer infrastructure within states, developing and implementing state events, securing foundation and grant opportunities, and managing local staff, advisory boards, and associated committees.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BUILDING VOLUNTEER INFRASTRUCTURE: Develop and implement strategies to recruit, train, and retain volunteers in each state.
  • EVENT PLANNING: Organize and execute state-level events that raise awareness and funds for Best Buddies.
  • FUNDRAISING: Identify, cultivate, and steward donors to secure foundation and corporate funding.
  • VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT: Recruit, train, and supervise advisory boards and committees.
  • STAFF SUPERVISION: Manage local program and development staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years' relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of fundraising experience, including event planning and donor cultivation.
  • Experience working with volunteers and boards.
  • Staff management experience.
  • SUPERIOR PERSUASIVE WRITING AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
  • Superior project management skills.
  • Ability to travel, use personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Access to an automobile with insurance.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 per year.

Location: Varies (within state).
