As a Culinary Specialist, you will be instrumental in realizing our vision by expertly preparing and cooking menu offerings.

Compensation: $19 - $21 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ingredient Preparation: Clean, chop, and ready ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, and seafood.
  • Cooking and Plating: Adhere to recipes and presentation guidelines to prepare menu items, ensuring each dish meets the restaurant's standards.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Comply with health and safety regulations by maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including sanitizing surfaces and proper food storage.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor kitchen supplies and notify the kitchen manager or chef when stock is low or equipment requires maintenance.
  • Temperature Management: Ensure all food items are stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent spoilage and ensure safety.
  • Kitchen Equipment Operation: Safely use kitchen appliances such as grills, stoves, ovens, and fryers.
  • Time Management: Effectively manage time to handle multiple orders concurrently and meet service standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate the quality of ingredients and final dishes, adjusting cooking methods as necessary to uphold quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with fellow kitchen staff, including other cooks, sous chefs, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient operations.
  • Feedback Utilization: Incorporate feedback from kitchen personnel and diners to enhance food preparation and presentation.
  • Menu Familiarity: Understand the menu, including ingredients and cooking techniques, to assist other staff and diners.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about new culinary techniques and trends to enhance skills and kitchen efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Cook or Line Cook in a restaurant environment.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare dishes accurately.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
