About the Role

As a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional care to our military community at Naval Branch Health Clinic Kaneohe Bay Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently using sterile technique and adhering to infection control procedures.
  • Maintain and optimize the Unit Dose Drug Distribution System, ensuring seamless patient care and minimizing medication errors.
  • Extemporaneously compound locally formulated pharmaceutical products, applying knowledge of potential incompatibilities and resolving issues as needed.
  • Repackage bulk medications into unit doses, manage inventory levels, and operate pre-packing equipment effectively.
  • Collaborate with ward personnel to assemble and distribute drugs and supplies within established policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance on medication administration, interactions, and availability to hospital staff and patients.
Requirements
  • A degree from a pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or equivalent.
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and basic life support training.
  • One year of experience as a pharmacy technician post-graduation.
