Pharmacy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at the Naval Branch Health Clinic Kaneohe Bay Hawaii.

This role involves working in a dynamic environment, utilizing cutting-edge medical technology, and collaborating with a passionate healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in providing top-notch care to our service members and their families.

• Review and prepare pharmacy orders for intravenous additive solutions, maintaining sterile technique and infection control procedures.
• Maintain and maximize the Unit Dose Drug Distribution System, including preparing patient profiles and dispensing doses directly to wards.
• Perform extemporaneous and bulk compounding of locally formulated pharmaceutical products, recognizing potential incompatibility situations.
• Repackage bulk medications into smaller containers, maintain an adequate level of pre-packs, and operate pre-packing equipment.
• Assemble drugs and supplies for distribution to wards and clinics within pharmacy floor stock policies and procedures.
• Respond to pharmacy questions regarding medication administration, drug interactions, and availability.
• Advise supply personnel of medication shortages and inform them of unusual use or large quantities of drugs.

• Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) with additional certifications in Basic Life Support.
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation.
