About the Role

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
  • Review consultation requests, checking for special instructions from requesting physicians and consult with radiologists as necessary.
  • Complete all departmental processes for resulting and documentation of exams.
  • Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing yourself.
  • Completely explain examination procedures to patients and their families, if present.
  • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the Ultrasound department.
  • Perform all routine diagnostic and ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
  • Maintain Joint Commission standards and ACR accreditation.
  • PAC scan all patient-related forms and information.
  • Follow the department Code of Conduct.
  • Assure exam pre-requisites are completed prior to appointment.
  • Ensure appropriate storage and ordering of supplies for the Ultrasound area.
  • Monitor and report supplies in shortage and special order items.
  • Perform visual preventive safety inspections and conduct daily quality assurance tests on the US Scan equipment.
  • Identify any problems and communicate to immediate supervisors.
  • Evaluate scans for technical quality.
  • Demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper positioning.
  • Assure access to care by adding on exams whenever possible or finding an alternative when not possible.
  • Verify correct order entry and supply charging.
  • Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
Requirements
  • One year of previous experience in the hospital setting.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
  • Able to withstand crisis situations.
  • Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
  • ARDMS-RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification.
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
  • Associates Degree in a related field.
