Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety and Quality Manager to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in food safety and quality management, with a focus on aseptic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead the quality oversight program for aseptic operations, including developing training materials and mentoring QA floor support.
- Provide training and technical support to operational employees on GMPs, aseptic processing, and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, customer, and corporate programs, and lead internal and external audits.
- Develop and maintain plant sanitation programs to ensure a safe and wholesome product supply.
- Manage the collection, trending, and reporting of data to identify root cause and areas of opportunity.
- Communicate Food Safety and Quality related KPIs and lead teams in identifying and addressing trends.
- Provide leadership to ensure a safe work environment and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
- 5+ years' supervisory or managerial experience in a food plant manufacturing environment, with aseptic beverage processing preferred.
- Completed HACCP training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to develop and motivate salaried and hourly personnel.
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as required.
- Experience or knowledge of all applicable food industry related quality systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment, and products.
- Knowledge and experience in microbiological testing/commercial sterility testing of aseptic food or beverages.
- Knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, such as RedZone and Intelex.
- Experience with new plant startup processes.
- Better Process Control School Certification.
- Completed PCQI training.
- SQF Edition 9.
- Certified HACCP Manager.
- Internal Auditor training.
