Senior Scientist, CHO Cell Line Development

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a seasoned Senior Scientist to join our dynamic team, dedicated to disrupting therapeutic protein and virus production. This pivotal role requires an independent, motivated individual adept at advancing our client's technology toward full commercialization.

As a Senior Scientist, you will be instrumental in cell engineering, vector design and construction, transfection, mammalian cell culture, cloning and screening, and leveraging related molecular and cellular biology techniques. Collaboration with colleagues and pharmaceutical partners is fundamental to this role's success.

Management responsibilities, both present and future, will evolve based on experience and developmental trajectory within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cell engineering strategies to improve mammalian cell productivity.
  • Design and construct vectors for transfection and gene expression.
  • Optimize mammalian cell culture conditions for maximum productivity.
  • Screen and select high-producing cell lines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and pharmaceutical partners to advance technology.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in creating recombinant mammalian cell lines, ideally within pharmaceutical settings.
  • Proficiency with mammalian cell culture techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques for vector design, construction, and mammalian cell transfection.
  • Familiarity with protein assay techniques for screening transfected cells.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with flow cytometry, virology, cell banking, and transposase transfection methods.
  • Knowledge of protein analytical methods.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for creating and testing cells intended for GMP manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with photo microscopy.
