Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Lead a team of GIS Analysts, IT Professionals, and Business Analysts, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure project success.
  • Develop and deploy project best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all projects.
  • Manage projects using various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilize formal change control and change management programs/models to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Write RFPs and work with third-party vendors to acquire or develop solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Manage multiple consultants and vendors, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience providing expert-level technology program/project management on highly complex projects.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in the Utility industry, specifically in GIS technology.
  • Experience in managing a team of professionals, including GIS Analysts, IT Professionals, and Business Analysts.
  • Excellent leadership and political awareness within a political/government/public environment.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiations and writing statements of work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business teams, technical teams, and external agencies.
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders and driving decisions to closure, with the ability to move executive and senior management to action.
  • Technical background with GIS and Work and Asset Management applications.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a process-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, and Office products.
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix reporting structure.
Desired Qualifications
  • BA/Master's in Management of Information Systems, Systems Development, or Project Management (or related field).
  • Formal certification, training, and/or experience in Organizational Change Management, Organization Development, or Process Improvement.
  • Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience providing expert-level program/project management on highly complex projects.
