Electrical Mechanic

At Wabtec, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Mechanic A to join our team at our Cleveland Service Center site. As an Electrical Mechanic A, you will be responsible for performing operations that involve dismantling, cleaning, repairing, and rebuilding components across multiple product lines effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform complicated operations involving assembling, dismantling, cleaning, inspecting, and repairing components within the department.
- Demonstrate a strong focus on safety awareness and accident prevention.
- Understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, maintenance manuals, instructions, parts lists, and prints.
- Utilize knowledge and experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to identify and correct problems.
- Meet aggressive delivery schedules and productivity goals, and make recommendations to improve the repair process and quality.
- Perform all tasks required to repair Alternators and Generators.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Tow Motor experience preferred.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts.
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
- The employee is regularly required to wear steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
- The position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shifts to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
The employee will normally work in an industrial environment, with frequent exposure to electronic testing equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
