The Maintenance Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of commercial and industrial facilities by installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure all employees adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety requirements, identifying potential hazards and taking necessary actions to ensure employee safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Visually inspect and electrically test machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions, discussing machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Electrical Component Repair: Identify defective electrical components and repair or replace them, ensuring electrical systems are functioning correctly.
  • Electrical Fundamentals: Understand electrical fundamentals and apply them to troubleshoot equipment, read electrical schematics, and use them to diagnose problems.
  • PLC Troubleshooting: Possess basic PLC knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot using PLC programs.
  • Electrical Code Compliance: Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and standard electrical construction practices.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Use an ERP system to order parts and document work, ensuring accurate records of maintenance activities.
Requirements:
  • Electrical Maintenance:
    • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
    • Panel building and integration expertise
    • Single-phase and 3-phase motor controls and installation knowledge
    • Press controls, resistance welders, and miscellaneous equipment experience
    • PLC trouble-shooting skills
    • Ability to run conduit neatly
    • Electrical PM's performance
    • Willingness to perform mechanical work as needed
  • Electrical Skills:
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot electrical problems
    • Capacity to draw electrical schematics
    • Interpretation of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics (a plus)
    • Panel building expertise
    • Strong electrical aptitude and math skills
    • Ability to calculate conduit fills, wire sizes, etc.
