Teaching Philosophy

Instructors should perceive their teaching, student interactions, and scholarly pursuits as integral to a meaningful educational experience. They are encouraged to utilize diverse methodologies to foster optimal learning environments, recognizing each student as a distinct individual and accommodating their varied differences, capabilities, and interests.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction in areas of expertise while upholding the integrity of academic programs.
  • Ensure alignment of teaching methods with the university's mission and vision for student engagement.
  • Create a respectful academic environment that honors individual dignity.
  • Contribute to curriculum development for both residential and online education.
  • Engage in research, scholarship, or creative activities as required by the respective college or school.
  • Participate in service activities that support students and the academic discipline.
Qualifications

To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must possess:

  • An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field or a terminal professional master's degree.
  • Evidence of significant contributions to the professional or academic field, recognized by peers at a national level.
  • A minimum of 18 graduate hours in accounting, along with CPA certification and experience in public or private accounting.

Associate Professors are contracted for various durations, with teaching loads determined each semester by the Dean, in accordance with the Liberty University Faculty Handbook.
