Senior Molecular Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Scientist to join our team at Lighthouse Lab Services. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for creating materials that our client labs use to test their patient samples, saving both the company and our clients' money.
Your primary focus will be on calibrating, testing, and analyzing material performance to ensure that the evaluated material meets requirements for precision, performance, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture validation materials and controls for Molecular and Infectious Disease panels.
- Create LCMS Validation materials (Sample Comparison, Matrix Effects, Interference Study).
- Create Stocks, Calibrators, and QC used on the LCMS.
- Create Internal Standards.
- Create Specialty/Custom recipes and mixes (Cal, QC, ISTD, and Stocks) for clients.
- Maintain Quality documents for the laboratory.
- Run lot to lot verification on new lots of reagents.
- Create COA for each lot of controls.
- Create Custom ALT PT samples.
- Equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Extract RNA/DNA using automated methods.
- Order supplies for the laboratory, handle all shipments of standards from the lab.
- Collaborate with the Quality and DA/DR teams to ensure standards are passing.
- Lot tracking of stock materials.
- Ordering and keeping record of standards and assays materials.
- Updating internal recipes, COAs, Product Inserts.
- Filing recipes, quality documents, packing slips, COAs of standards and assay materials.
- Shipping of all Standards and Assays.
- Participate in the instruction and training of others.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences or other closely related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within a clinical laboratory, within an infectious disease laboratory with both:
- RT-PCR experience. General knowledge of how it works, outcomes, reagents and materials required to perform.
- Quant Studio & King Fisher (Duo or Flex) experience. Specifically instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
- Certificate(s) and/or License(s)
- Medical Technologist Certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $24-$28/hourly based on experience
