Job Title: Data Scientist III

Job Summary:

The Data Scientist III is a key member of the Advanced Analytics team at TD Bank, responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in advanced statistical and AI/ML techniques to solve business problems. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and modeling large datasets, applying mathematical models and tools, and utilizing software engineering best practices to develop and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust and reliable machine learning algorithms to solve strategic business challenges.
  • Use advanced techniques such as advanced statistics, machine learning, and AI to enable insightful actions.
  • Leverage a broad stack of technologies and platforms to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and lead projects through all phases of the model lifecycle.
  • Provide expertise in stakeholder interactions related to complex advanced analytics material.
  • Effectively communicate model design and results to senior leaders and business partners.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or relevant fields.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with higher degree education and research tenure also considered.
  • Formal training or substantive experience in a quantitative field.
  • In-depth knowledge of ML/AI algorithms and techniques.
  • Familiarity and experience with Generative AI techniques and advancements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full stack experience in data science product delivery.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL programming languages.
  • Skilled with version control software or platform such as Git, Bitbucket, or Github.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
