Poultry Farm Specialist

This is a full-time role that requires working Saturdays through Wednesdays. As a Pedigree Farm Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and caring for developer birds at our Hegins facility.

• Collect, wash, and incubate eggs until hatching.
• Feed and care for the flocks.
• Select animals for breeding.
• Ensure the houses are clean and well-maintained.
• Alert proper personnel in case of an issue.
• Collect and enter data using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Tag and vaccinate birds according to JJS veterinarian protocol.
• Work with the Pedigree Farm Manager on external research trials.
• Respond to farm emergencies, such as sick ducks or feed issues.
• Ensure proper biosecurity measures are followed.
• Perform other assignments as assigned.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

• Experience with managing in a poultry environment is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid CPT (Certified Poultry Technician) License preferred.

Physical Demands: Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed. Must be able to use hands for simple/firm grasping and move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance. Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia. Noise level may be loud at times.
