Pedigree Farm Technician

This is a full time role. Applicants must be able to work Saturdays through Wednesdays.Job Summary Perform a variety of duties related to the monitor and care for developer birds at Hegins facility. Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: · Collecting, washing, and incubating eggs until hatching.· Feeding and caring of the flocks.· Selecting animals to bred.· Ensure the houses are clean and well taken care of.· Alert proper personal in the case of an issue.· Data collection and entry (Microsoft Word and Excel).· Tagging and Vaccination of birds following JJS veterinarian protocol· Work with the Pedigree Farm Manager on other external research trials (weighing, CT Scanning etc.)· Must be able to respond to farm emergencies, i.e. sick ducks, feed issues, no electric etc.· Ensure proper biosecurity measures are being followed· Other assignments as assigned.· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.· Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.· Comply with all company policies and procedures. Education and Experience Requirements · Exposure with managing in poultry environment a plus.· Valid Driver's License· Valid CPT (Certified Poultry Technician) License preferred Physical Demands · Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.· Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed.· Must be able use hands for simple/firm grasping.· Must be able to move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance.· Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia.· Noise level may be loud at times.DISCLAIMER· This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
