Transportation Engineering Summer Internship Opportunity

Stolfus & Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Engineering Summer Intern to join our team in Greenwood Village, CO.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and curious student who wishes to gain hands-on experience in transportation engineering. The successful candidate will receive in-depth learning about a variety of transportation projects throughout Colorado.

Responsibilities
  • Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, intersections, and multimodal facilities.
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide range of transportation projects.
  • Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge in areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare working drawings, details, layouts, quantity calculations, geometric evaluations, and work products.
  • Receive close supervision on new aspects of assignments as required.
  • May be assisted by other student interns or EITs.
  • May coordinate with the work of others for specific assignments.
  • Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform field observation work when necessary.
  • Some travel may be required.
Requirements
  • Completion of two years towards Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited school.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical information into accessible forms.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to make Colorado's transportation system safer and improve quality of life for users while meeting our client's needs.
  • This position requires the ability to sit/stand for extended periods at a computer workstation. Occasional travel to client facilities and project sites require ability to climb ladders, inspect and be physically mobile in and around client construction sites.
