About the Role

CMTA, a Legence company, is a leading engineering firm in the U.S. with a strong focus on sustainable and high-performance building engineering. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead all aspects of performance contracts for our clients, from conception to completion. This includes introducing and explaining performance contracting to potential clients, articulating how and why CMTA is unique in our approach, and leading the development phase, including site visits, audits, energy calculations, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement performance contracts for clients
  • Lead the development phase, including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
  • Direct the engineering design team and produce drawings and specifications
  • Direct the bidding process and develop the final contract with the client
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period for the client
  • Direct the commissioning process and be involved during the warranty phase as required
  • Work with the M&V professional to develop the first year M&V report
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company or a consulting engineering/commissioning firm
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
  • Desired skills include management, construction, engineering design, energy, HVAC design, auditing, commissioning, and consulting
