  • Mix and administer chemotherapy as ordered by physicians.
  • Obtain pre and post labs for treatment and evaluation of patients.
  • Implement teaching strategies for patient education on illness, therapy, and home care.
  • Maintain familiarity with current treatment methods through in-services.
  • Interact with pharmaceutical companies and other agencies for medication procurement.
  • Interact with physicians, patients, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Maintain inventories of chemotherapy drugs and supplies.
  • Order restocking of chemotherapy drugs and supplies.
  • Stay abreast of chemotherapy drug and supply costs.
  • Participate in direct patient care activities.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and medication administration.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program meeting Alabama state standards.
  • Two years of professional nursing experience.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama.
  • ACLS certification within six months of employment.
  • ONS basic certification to administer chemotherapy within three months of employment.
