Job SummaryUSA Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Hematology/Oncology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting oncology physicians in the medical management of outpatients, mixing and administering chemotherapy as ordered, and implementing teaching strategies related to patient education.
Responsibilities
Assist oncology physicians in the medical management of outpatients in the Hematology/Oncology clinic
Mix and administer chemotherapy as ordered by physicians
Implement teaching strategies related to patient education
Maintain familiarity with current methods of treating patients
Interact with pharmaceutical companies and other agencies in the procurement of medications
Maintain accurate patient records in the chemotherapy area
Ensure compliance with OSHA and Risk Management
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the state of Alabama
Two years of professional experience as a registered nurse
Licensure with the state of Alabama as a registered nurse
ACLS certification obtained within six months of employment
ONS basic certification to administer chemotherapy obtained within three months of employment
