Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions to develop individualized plans of care.
  • Implementation and Coordination: Implement and coordinate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Evaluation and Revision: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and revise as needed to ensure patients' needs are met.
  • Education and Preceptorship: Provide educational opportunities to patients and families, and serve as a preceptor to new staff members.
  • Leadership and Charge Nurse: Function as a charge nurse, overseeing unit activities and delegating tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of med/surg experience preferred, critical care experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required within the first year of employment.
