About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care based on physical, psychosocial, education, safety, and related criteria.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members.
- Take initiative to improve job performance and create new opportunities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
- Participate in Unit/Department Performance Improvement activities.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Completion of Meridian Nursing Assistant Program or current Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Current Nursing Student, having completed fundamentals in nursing clinical rotation, or equivalent bedside nursing experience.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting.
- Experienced or certified in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar.
