Job Title: Wound Care Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team at Mesquite Tree Nursing Center. As a Wound Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wound care services to our residents, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to promote wound healing and prevent further complications.
  • Collaborate with our clinical team, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff on wound care best practices and prevention strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest wound care research, guidelines, and technologies to ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance wound care outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Active/Valid RN/LVN nursing license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in wound care, including wound assessment, treatment planning, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of wound care principles, including infection control and wound management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wound Care Nursing Certification (WCN) or Wound Debridement Certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare software applications.
